Tengwar Utilities for Windows:

This program will work with either of my Tengwar fonts (Tengwar Quenya, Tengwar Sindarin or Tengwar Noldor, version 1.9d). Due to key-mapping differences, they will not work with any of the Tengwar fonts created by other people.

Tengwar Typewriter 1.2
TNGTYP12.ZIP / 27873 bytes / October 4, 1995
Created by Lasse and Antti Rasinen as mailware, this utility uses my Tengwar fonts and is very similar Microsoft Word 6.0 WordBasic macros described earlier, except it does not require Microsoft Word and is user configurable. It allows Windows users to create and preview Tengwar inscriptions and copy them into the Windows clipboard, where they are available to be pasted into any other Windows application. Requires Microsoft's Visual Basic 1.0 run time library VBRUN100.DLL to run. (available at www.shareware.com - search for VBRUN100)

Tengwar Generator 3.0
TENGENR3.ZIP / 46492 bytes / October 12, 1995
Created by Måns Björkman as freeware, this utility uses my Tengwar fonts and when run, displays a window with two parts. One part displays the an ASCII text string using a normal Windows font, and the other part displays the equivalent text string using a Tengwar font. It supports the Quenya mode and the Mode Beleriand. For example, if using the Quenya mode, you type 'GHW' in the ASCII text window, the Tengwa for 'GHW' will appear in the Tengwar window. It allows Windows users to create and preview Tengwar inscriptions and copy them into the Windows clipboard, where they are available to be pasted into any other Windows application. Requires Microsoft's Visual Basic 3.0 run time library VBRUN300.DLL to run. (available at www.shareware.com - search for VBRUN300)

Rune Copy 1.0
RUNECOPY.ZIP / 5539 bytes / September 11, 1997
Created by Hein Ragas as freeware, this Windows utility can use both my Tengwar and Dwarf Rune fonts. It is similar to the Tengwar Generator (listed above), but simpler, with fewer options. When run, displays two windows. You type an ASCII text string using a normal Windows font in the top window, specify the Tengwar or Dwarf Rune font that you wish to use, click on a 'Transscribe' button, and your text will appear in the bottom window in an appropriate mode using the selected font. You can then copy your inscriptions into the Windows clipboard, where they are available to be pasted into any other Windows application.
